About Me 🙋♂️
I'm Owen McGirr, a software developer 💻 from Donegal, Ireland 🇮🇪, passionate about creating technology that makes a real difference in people's lives 💙.
My Journey 🌟
Living with cerebral palsy and using adaptive switches myself ♿, I understand firsthand the challenges people with disabilities face when interacting with technology 📱. I started programming at 15 👶, driven by a desire to create tools that would not only help me but also empower others in similar situations 💪.
My Mission 🎯
My goal is to make technology more accessible and empowering for people with disabilities ✨. I focus on creating solutions that give people more independence and control over their devices 📲, because I believe everyone deserves equal access to the digital world 🌐.
What I Do 💻
As the founder of EnabO Apps, I develop accessibility-focused applications that help people with speech and mobility challenges. My work includes:
- AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) applications 🗣️
- Adaptive switch solutions for device control 🎮
- Customizable accessibility tools 🔧
- Consulting on accessibility best practices ♿
Recognition 🏆
I've been recognized as an innovator under 35 🎆 and have presented on topics like AI and AAC at various conferences 🎤. My apps have helped thousands of people communicate and interact with technology in ways that work for them 🚀.
Let's Connect 🤝
I'm always interested in collaborating on projects that promote accessibility and inclusion 🤝. Feel free to reach out if you'd like to work together or learn more about my work 📨.
